Tormenta trae nieve, hielo y lluvia el miércoles

Un poco de lluvia helada se desarrollará en partes del centro y sur de Nueva Inglaterra antes del amanecer del miércoles, lo que hará que la primera parte del tránsito mañanero sea difícil en áreas particularmente fuera de la I-495

El ambiente tranquilo permanece en Nueva Inglaterra el martes por la noche, aunque las nubes están aumentando y espesándose antes de la tormenta del miércoles.

El centro de la tormenta en sí permanecerá en alta mar, al sur y al este de Nantucket, pero hará un paso lo suficientemente cerca como para provocar que se desarrolle una mezcla invernal y que compliquen el tránsito mañanero.

Lluvia helada ligera se desarrollarán antes del amanecer del miércoles en el interior del sur y centro de Nueva Inglaterra, principalmente entre las 2 y las 5 a.m.

Con temperaturas que rondan el punto de congelación en estos lugares, cualquier superficie sin tratar se volverá resbaladiza. Si va al trabajo o saldrá de su casa planifique su salida con tiempo.

Cualquier mezcla invernal temprana se convertirá en lluvia en el sur y partes del centro de Nueva Inglaterra, y terminará rápidamente de oeste a este desde el mediodía hasta las primeras horas de la tarde. Un período de acumulación de nieve, lluvia helada y mezcla de aguanieve continuará durante la tarde lejos de la costa inmediata de Maine.

¿De qué estamos hablando en términos de totales de acumulación de hielo? En general, es posible una cantidad de traza de 0.1 pulgadas en las áreas resaltadas anteriormente, aunque serán posibles algunos totales más altos desde Kennebec hasta los condados del sur y centro de Somerset en Maine (hasta 0.25 pulgadas).

Los totales de nevadas estarán generalmente entre una capa y una pulgada o dos en el norte de Vermont, el centro y norte de New Hampshire y el sur de Maine, con el mayor impacto en el norte de Maine de 6 a 10 pulgadas.
