Ryan Hanrahan is NBC Connecticut’s Chief Meteorologist, delivering forecasts weeknights at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., and 6 p.m.

Throughout his career, Ryan has covered some of Connecticut’s most impactful weather events, including the October Snowstorm, Tropical Storm Irene, and Hurricane Sandy.

His reporting has taken him from the summit of Mount Washington in midwinter winds topping 100 mph, to the eye of Hurricane Florence over the Atlantic Ocean with the Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunters, as well as to the aftermath of some of the region’s most destructive natural disasters.

Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Penn State and completed graduate studies in atmospheric science at the University at Albany. His forecasts are certified by the American Meteorological Society, earning its prestigious Seal of Approval.

When he’s not tracking storms, Ryan enjoys skiing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
